5 Simple Steps to Create Your Sacred Self-Care Space (No Matter Where You Are)

5 Simple Steps to Create Your Sacred Self-Care Space (No Matter Where You Are)

To be honest, we are all very busy. In terms of work, relationships, and daily life, finding time for ourselves is just as difficult as trying to catch a unicorn in the wild. But trust me, setting aside a little time and space for yourself can create miracles. As a holistic sex coach, I have personally experienced how to create a sacred space for self-care, helping us release our desires, deepen our connection to joy, and reignite the spark within (whether you are single, in a relationship, or married, this will change your life trajectory).

Whether you work from home or lead a nomadic lifestyle, it's time to create a space that feels just right. Don't worry - you don't need to spend a fortune or have a set of perfect equipment like those on Pinterest to achieve this. I've prepared five simple and easy-to-follow steps that you can do yourself, no matter where you are.

Let's get started!

Choose your location (that is, your leisure area)

You don't need to find a grand corner in your home to create a sacred space - it just needs to make you feel comfortable. Maybe it's a corner in your bedroom, a windowsill, or even the floor of the bathroom (I actually went there). For my "nomad", this could be a cozy corner in your Airbnb, or even an outdoor little haven where you can rest peacefully. The key is to find a place that makes you feel comfortable and undisturbed. You are building a peaceful bubble, keeping the outside chaos from reaching you.

Experts suggest: For all the travelers, as soon as you enter the hotel room, find a corner, such as a beautiful beach or a quiet bench in the park. Any place that can make you feel happy can become your relaxation area.

Integrate natural elements

Who doesn't like a touch of natural beauty? Even if you're like me and have trouble taking care of plants (my therapist says it's a matter of determination, hahaha), there are many ways to add some natural charm to your sacred space. Bring in a cactus, a bouquet of flowers (either freshly picked or purchased), or even the crystal or shell you got from your latest adventure. Nature makes us grounded, reminding us to slow down, take a deep breath, and enjoy the present moment.

I am obsessed with crystals because they are easy to carry and can bring various pleasant energies even when you are out and about. Fossilized quartz is my favorite choice (and it is very lightweight when placed in a suitcase), while amethyst can help me relax my mind and body. No matter which one you choose, be sure to ensure that it can make your space feel like your own private oasis.

Use lighting to create an atmosphere (so that we feel comfortable!)

Creating a sacred space, lighting is of vital importance. Soft and warm lighting can transform any space from ordinary to magical. Candles are always a good choice, but if you are a traveler or are in an area where fire is prohibited, you might consider preparing some cute battery-powered candles or colored lights. Believe me, they will bring unexpected surprises.

When you light up your space, it's as if you allow yourself to slow down and return to your inner self. Moreover, a touch of romantic lighting can make everything seem exceptionally special. Isn't it worth having?

Add a touch of sensory magic

Here, you can truly personalize! Engage your senses and truly immerse yourself in the present moment. Whether you use essential oils, incense, or soft and fluffy blankets, these small details can transform your space and bring you a full-body experience of enjoyment. It's like turning on your own exclusive pleasure dial, and savor it to the fullest.

Lavender is my first choice, as it can instantly calm me down; peppermint oil is the perfect choice when I need to stay alert. Travel? Prepare a small sensory kit, filled with your favorite scents or textures, so you can always find them and feel the warmth of home.

Make it yours (or package it if necessary!)

The key point is: Your sacred space belongs to you, so it should reflect your personality. Don't be afraid to add some personal items that make you feel comfortable, such as a diary, a crystal ball, or a soft makeup sponge. What's the best part? If you love traveling, you can easily create a portable version of your sacred space. Prepare a small toolbox and put your favorite items in it. You can recreate that Zen atmosphere wherever you go.

Whether you are traveling by plane or staying put, please remember that your self-care space can help you take a moment to slow down and reconnect with yourself at any time.
