Premature ejaculation: it’s more common than you think

Premature ejaculation (also known as "early ejaculation") is very common.

In fact, this disease is very common. One third of men will experience this disease during their lifetime.

But to be honest: This common problem can still be embarrassing even after experiencing it, and it's embarrassing to talk about. Many of us are even too shy to discuss it with our partners, let alone with friends, therapists, or doctors.

So today, we will attempt to eliminate the unnecessary shame associated with premature ejaculation, and openly discuss the causes of premature ejaculation and how to prevent it.

There are four types of premature ejaculation.

You may not know that there are four types of premature ejaculation. Now let's take a look at them:

Primary (chronic) premature ejaculation

  • Ejaculation occurs within less than one minute after penetration.

  • This is how most of us ejaculate throughout our lives.

  • Difficulty or inability to control ejaculation.

Secondary (acquired) premature ejaculation

  • Ejaculation occurs within less than three minutes after penetration.

  • Ejaculation does not always happen in this way. In the past, it took a longer time to ejaculate.

  • Controlling ejaculation is difficult, but it is not impossible.

Variable premature ejaculation

  • Ejaculation occurs more quickly than normal, but within three minutes after penetration

  • Premature ejaculation is irregular - it doesn't occur frequently

  • Controlling ejaculation is difficult, but it is not impossible

Subjective premature ejaculation

  • Although ejaculation occurs naturally, people tend to think it happens very quickly.

  • Controlling ejaculation is difficult, but it is not impossible.

Is there any treatment for premature ejaculation?

Don't worry, there are treatment methods available!

"I really like treating premature ejaculation because the results are quick," Georgia said. "There are many methods available - and, only when both the patient with premature ejaculation and their partner actively cooperate, will the treatment plan be truly effective."

Common methods for treating premature ejaculation include activities that can be done at home, such as pelvic floor muscle exercises, training under increasingly challenging "competition conditions" (for example, self-stimulation with elements similar to real sexual behavior), and behavioral techniques that encourage you to focus on other aspects of sexual intimacy and connection beyond sexual intercourse and orgasm.
