No matter where you come from, the culture you are in has taboos regarding sex and intimate relationships. Although this world is filled with wild sexual behaviors, we can still enjoy our own uniqueness together because when you compare it with what you know, you will find that it is completely objective.
Even so, these taboos are not necessarily crazy, but during the research stage of this article, they did elicit the kind of "oh... Kaye" reactions from people. This article outlines the sexual taboos in some little-known cultures around the world.
Nighttime is the right time (as ordained by God)
While many people enjoy a bit of frisky fun in the morning or the afternoon, odds are those same people don’t come from the indigenous groups of the Kuna or Semang, located respectively in Panama and Malaysia.
While people of the Kuna believe that a daylight dalliance is not in line with God’s law, the Semang claim it causes wicked thunderstorms that will drown innocent people, and the offending couple – so much for an afternoon delight.
Sex: Bad for Battle & Bear Traps
Some sexual taboos can have adverse effects on things that seem unrelated to sexual behavior, just like professional athletes giving up having sex before major competitions or during playoffs.
The Ganda people of Uganda prohibit sexual intercourse before going to battle, and also prohibit it when processing the trees used for making canoes - this makes the canoes the only wood ever used in this village (hey!) 。
Let's not even talk about Wood's joke. Just imagine how it would feel to go without sex for three months when the hunting season begins. If you were a Rechacha people from northern Asia, this would happen after you set up the bear traps. This makes us think that being vegetarian is a good idea.
Location, Location, Location
In terms of taboos, the location and timing of sexual activities are equally important. Although outdoor sexual activities are very common in the West and are even regarded as a rite of passage, the Banyara tribe in West Africa believes that outdoor sexual activities will cause all their crops to die.
Meanwhile, as mentioned earlier, the Semang people prohibited sexual activities within their villages to avoid angering the gods. This meant that they not only had to leave the village to seek pleasure, but also could do so only at night!
