Which foods can improve your sex life?

Do aphrodisiac foods really exist?

As we mentioned, various foods and even beverages are notorious for their aphrodisiac effects. The question is, do these foods really work? The answer is no. At least, according to the general understanding of stimulants among people, they don't have any effect. There is almost no evidence to suggest that these foods can miraculously boost sexual desire or promote blood circulation. However, some foods or "modern stimulants" have been proven to be beneficial to overall health in certain aspects, and thus may potentially enhance sexual desire, etc.

What is a "modern Viagra"?

Although traditional oysters and strawberries may lack the so-called magical effects, the foods you consume every day can be considered "modern aphrodisiacs". These foods help enhance physical strength and promote blood circulation, thereby contributing to an improved sex life.

We will learn about some of these foods and their benefits, allowing you to get a general idea of which foods you can consume (or eat more of) to improve your sex life.

Which foods stimulate what?

Here are just a few examples of modern-day aphrodisiac foods and what they do to help your body.

Salmon - high in omega-3 fatty acids, which is essential not only for a healthy heart, omega-3 also helps your libido by assisting the production of key sex hormones such as estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone.

Celery - while not being overly sexy, contains small amounts of androstenone, a male pheromone that women can find attractive in men.

Avocado - the Aztec word for avocado is "ahuacatl" which means "testicle" which may explain their high levels of vitamin B6 (helping increase testosterone production), folic acid and vitamin B9 (to give you more energy).

Garlic - contains a lot of allicin which increases blood flow and overall cardiovascular wellness. As well as being great for stamina, you can probably imagine how increased blood flow helps to get things going!

Ginseng - this well known healthy herb is beneficial for many reasons but can help libido and your sexual performance in the process.

Chilli Peppers - these contain capsaicin that stimulates the nerve endings on the tongue. This creates a tingling sensation that increases the release of epinephrine (better known as adrenaline) and endorphins, one of the body's natural opiates. These hormones can help to get you in the mood to spice up your sex life a little!

. Oysters - while the miracle aphrodisiac effect of oysters might not be as potent as the tales suggest, oysters can still help. They contain large amounts of the amino acid tyrosine, a nutrient that helps in the production of dopamine. Dopamine, in turn, can help counter a low libido, plus the high levels of zinc aid in the production of testosterone and sperm production.

Saffron - well known in history as an aphrodisiac, it seems these stories might hold some truth. In more recent studies, saffron has been shown to help increase sperm motility in infertile men.

Pomegranates - rich in antioxidants, they can also decrease inflammation to increase the blood flow to all areas of your body. That may be why some studies report pomegranate juice may help with erectile dysfunction.

Why do I need to eat these foods?

Of course, the above-mentioned foods cannot guarantee to solve all your sexual problems, but they do have significant health benefits for the body. As you can see, all the mentioned foods are generally regarded as healthy components of a balanced diet, and consuming them in moderation will not have a significant impact on health. Their effects include enhancing sexual desire, promoting sperm production and vitality, increasing blood flow, and promoting the secretion of key positive hormones, etc. Even if you don't immediately feel an improvement similar to that of Viagra after consumption, these foods can still continuously help you maintain a healthy body, which is very beneficial for your sexual life!
